The orphan home Casa Hogar Feliz (Home of Happiness) is situated in the small mountain village San Andres Semetabaj, just a few miles / kilometers away from Panajachel, the nearest town, located along the shore of beautiful Lake Atitlan in Guatemala. The majority of San Andres Semetabaj's 3000 inhabitants are poor Mayan people, a large number of them widows with practically no income and lots of children to feed. These families are more often than not going to bed hungry almost every night. As a result of this the majority of these families suffer heavily from malnourishment and deficiency diseases.
